The Dockum Drug Store Sit-In of 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, was one of the first successful student-led lunch counter protests against racial segregation in the United States. Led by Ron Walters and Carol Parks-Haun, Black students peacefully protested for three weeks until the store agreed to serve Black customers, leading other Kansas drugstores to desegregate as well. Although long overlooked, the sit-in is now recognized as an important milestone in the Civil Rights Movement and is commemorated through local historical exhibits and public memorials.
