State Chapter Presidents

Students from 47 states have signed up as Civil Rights History America State Chapter Presidents. As State Chapter Presidents, the students identified and research an Civil Rights event or landmark in their state. Their research, along with an audio overview of the history, is now available on Civil Rights Tour AI app for people across the country to learn about the vast history of civil rights across the country.

Civil Rights History America and the mobile app represent the largest student-run bank of history The program was created by Logan Dorton, a high school junior from Bethesda, Maryland, who serves as National Student Director. Logan launched the Civil Rights History America high school program to connect students nationwide through storytelling, civic engagement, and history. Under his leadership, students form state chapters at their schools, research local civil rights sites, and create original audio stories to share on the Civil Rights History America app — helping preserve the voices and places that shaped the fight for justice in their own communities.
