Robert Marshall was a Black coal miner who was lynched by a mob near Price, Utah, on June 18, 1925, after being accused of killing a lawman, even though he never received a trial. Many people witnessed the lynching, but no one was ever convicted. Today, the main public place connected to his story is his grave in Price City Cemetery, where a memorial headstone was installed in 1998 honoring him as "A Victim of Intolerance." The original lynching site is on private land and is not preserved as a public landmark.
